FOR EU NATIONALS

If you are interested in applying for the fifth intake of EU-China Managers Exchange and Training Programme (METP 5), please follow the following steps.

Step 1 - Getting familiar with METP 5

Please read the general overview of the Programme.

Please check the criteria of METP 5 and identify which group you belong to.

Please read the financial information for your participation in the Programme and a Monthly Living Cost Estimate for European Managers .

Please read the indicative general timetable of METP 5 .

Step 2 - Preparing your application documents

You may download all the necessary files and templates for your application as a zip package from HERE. Or you can download them separately from the following links. Please prepare the application documents following the instructions in the templates.

APPLICATION DOSSIER:

Before preparing Annex 2, please read the General Guidelines on How to Prepare the Summary of Your Project/Business Plan  carefully.

Once you have completed the application documents, please send them via email to application@metp.net.cn  no later than 18.00h (Beijing time) on Thursday, 7 January 2010.

Please note that we do not accept incomplete documents. Also, we only accept applications directly from individual applicants to the email address application@metp.net.cn. Any application transferred by a third party will be rejected immediately.

Step 3 - Selection

Independent Chinese and European experts will conduct a pre-selection to shortlist candidates for the formal selection. If you are pre-selected, we will invite you to participate in the following selection event:

-  Selection in Beijing (for European managers who reside in Asia) indicatively to be held on 1-2 March 2010

-  Selection in Europe (for European managers who reside in Europe) indicatively to be held during the period of 9-12 March 2010
 

At the selection, you will be asked to present your passport and diplomas as originals.

The selection consists of an individual interview, a group assessment and a language aptitude test, and will be conducted by an independent jury of Chinese and European officials and experts.

Step 4 - Practical Preparations

If you are selected to participate in METP 5, you will have to arrange the respective visas and travel. We will provide you with detailed information in due time, but please note already at this stage that it is the sole responsibility of the applicant to apply for relevant visas and make relevant travel arrangements.

Note: If you are finally selected to participate in METP 5, you will be requested to sign a Letter of Commitment, in which details of logistical, administrative and financial aspects will be clearly specified. At the application stage, it is important to note that the participants of METP 5 must participate in each of the following three components of METP 5:

       1. A joint Intercultural Training in Beijing of all Chinese and European managers participating in the METP (2 weeks);

       2. A Business Chinese Language Training at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (7 months); and

       3. A work placement in China (3 months).
